  本次的Statements难度比历年大,考生要尽量把握句型结构和关键字,保6争8。

  第一句中的“Why bother”,口语中经常使用,表示“何必。。。呢?”第二句中的词组“stand up for”,我们课上分析中口听力教材时提到过,第三句同样也在教材上出现过。第四句中的inflation figure已与我们的生活息息相关,而数字3.5%和1% up也不难。第五句中难词较多,如“illiteracy”和“shortcoming”。第六句讲感冒的罪魁祸首是病菌而非天气,勤洗手才是避免感冒的正解,听了很长见识。第七句开头的“nurturing”又给人来了个下马威,但之后的意思就很明了,把握关键字“encourage, honor, renew”。第八句把公司的运作类比成打排球,同需团队合作。第九句又给人当头一棒,“from champs to chumps”是个大部分考生闻所未闻的词组,但同样根据后文“3 years ago”与“now”进行对比时的关键字“most valuable”和“history”(3年前是最有价值的,而现在已经成为历史),不难猜出这次词组的意思是“从高峰跌到低谷、从好变坏”。事实上,“champs”是“champion”的缩写,而“chumps”是“losers”的意思。第十句讲的是买卖打折,注意数字即可。
