A: Currently, there are three international marriages for every 100 newly wedded couples in Shanghai, which ranks top in China. In the early 1980s, such marriages began to increase rapidly, which was mainly attributed to the then newly implemented policy of opening up to the outside world.

A: After China’s accession to the World Trade Organization, a series of major reforms might be triggered in its colleges and universities, which involve the opening of its higher education sector to assorted investors and major changes in the curriculum arrangement.

Q: Many Americans, especially parents, are concerned about the charge of higher education. They feel that rising charges may make higher education inaccessible to many people. Seventy percent think that higher education is being priced beyond the income of the average family, as compared to only 44 percent who feel that the house is being priced out of reach.
