　　剑桥商务英语证书(CambridgeBusinessEnglishCertificate，简称BEC)考试，是英国剑桥大学考试委员会(UCLES)专门为非英语母语国家的人员进行国际商务活动的需要而设计的。由于证书颁发机构的权威性较强，该项考试在欧美许多国家被广泛认可，是求职英语能力证明的上选证书，并被英国50多所大学认可作为入学英语语言能力证明。

　　在中国，在“考证热”的影响下，BEC的考生60%为在校学生，其目的是为了获取证书，作为求职就业的敲门砖。

　　白领学习商务英语，其难点主要在于英语能力本身和商务词汇的缺乏方面，而大学生英语能力和基础相对较强，但遇到的困难也并不容小视。

　　缺乏商务词汇的积累：日常使用的英语与商务情景使用的英语有较大的差异，这种差异尤其体现在词汇的含义方面。例如：“Prospect”一词在日常英语中表达的是“前景”“前途”的意思，我们可以说“Weface the grim prospect of still higherunemployment。(我们面对失业率进一步增高前景堪虑)”，而在商务环境中，它的词义发生了很大的变化。如：You need to learnhowto convertprospects to clients。(你需要学会如何把潜在客户转化成普通客户)。这里“prospects”显然是“潜在客户”或“有望成为客户的意思”，相当于potential clientsorprospective clients。
