　　All the attention came after a passer-by recognized Zhang as the man who won a gold medal, took a picture of him begging and posted on microblogging site Weibo.
　　一位路人认出了张尚武，这位曾经获得两块金牌的人，并把他乞讨的照片拍下来发布在微博上，才引起了后来的关注。

　　Zhang, a native of Hebei province, became part of the Chinese national team program in 1995. He won gold medals in the team and ring events at the 2001 World University Games in Beijing and also participated in the World Gymnastics Championships in Ghent, Belgium the same year.
　　张尚武，河北人，1995年被选入国家体操队，在2001年世界大学生运动会获得吊环金牌和男团比赛冠军，还参加了在比利时根特举行的世界体操锦标赛。

　　Zhang Shangwu's case puts the plight of retired athletes, who are taken from their homes as young as five to be trained in special schools, struggling with poverty, injury and joblessness under the spotlight.
