尼日利亚逮捕我国纺织贸易商人

　　Nearly 100 Chinese nationals have been detained in the Nigerian cities of Kano and Lagos after Nigerian authorities began strengthening the management of foreigners illegally living or working in Nigeria from Tuesday, the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria told CRI on Tuesday night.

　　The Chinese Embassy has urgently summoned Nigerian officials from the Foreign Ministry and immigration authorities and lodged solemn representations on the detained Chinese citizens" behalf. Embassy representatives also visited the detained Chinese citizens and provided consular protection.

　　According to CRI reporters in Nigeria, some of the detained Chinese citizens have already been released.

　　Nigeria has arrested 45 illegal Chinese textiles traders, 11 of whom are women, in its main northern city of Kano and plans to deport them, Reuters cited the city's top immigration official Emmanuel Ifeadi as saying. Ifeadi described the workers as "economic scavengers" who were undercutting Nigerian sellers in the market.
