　　The Supreme People's Court (SPC) in China on Wednesday vowed "zero tolerance" of crimes infringing upon minors' rights and ordered lower courts to impose harsher punishments on such crimes according to the law.

　　中国最高人民法院29日郑重宣布，将对侵犯未成年人权益的犯罪行为实施“零容忍”，并要求各级法院依法对此类行为加大惩治力度。

　　The announcement appeared to be in response to public outrage over a recent series of reports about sexual assaults against schoolgirls in the country.

　　连日来，我国曝出的多起性侵中小学女生丑闻激起公愤。最高法院的这一通告算是给了公众一个回应。

　　On May 8, Chen Zaipeng, a former primary school principal in Hainan Province, and a government official were found spending a night with six schoolgirls and allegedly sexually molested them. As of May 27, at least eight cases involving young girls’ sexual abuse on campus were exposed across the country.

　　5月8日，海南省某小学前任校长陈在鹏被曝伙同一名公务员与6名女生过夜，被指对她们进行了性骚扰。截至5月27日，全国各地至少曝出8起伤害幼女的校园性侵案。

　　At least six primary school teachers have been detained this month for allegedly sexually molesting young girls--some as young as eight years old.

　　本月，至少有6名小学教师被警方拘捕，均被指性侵幼女，其中年龄最小的女生只有8岁。

　　The SPC publicized three typical cases: A primary school teacher who was convicted of raping seven schoolgirls was recently executed; a woman was sentenced to death for fatally abusing her five-year-old stepdaughter; a man was sentenced to four years’ imprisonment for instigating teenagers to commit crimes.

　　最高法院公布了3个典型案例：一名小学老师强奸7名女生，罪名被证实，已于近日处以死刑;一名女子将5岁大的继女虐待致死，被判处死刑;一名男子教唆青少年犯罪，被判4年监禁。

　　The SPC said it will step up efforts to protect minors and ensure a safe and healthy environment in which they can grow up. It also expressed the hope that self-protection awareness would grow among children.

　　最高法院表示将加大力度对未成年人进行保护，确保为他们的成长提供一个安全、健康的环境。此外，最高法院也希望孩子们能增强自我保护意识。

　　A criminal lawyer in Beijing advised parents of sexual abuse victims to report cases to police, so as to help reduce such cases in future.

　　北京一名刑事诉讼律师建议性侵事件受害者的家长报警，为日后减少类似事件的发生出一份力。
