　　Unsuccessful people constantly lie to themselves-about their own lives. I once thought that people who were habitually dishonest couldn’t be successful. Sadly, I’ve learned better. It’s possible to succeed, at least financially, while being totally dishonest with others. But it is absolutely impossible for people to be dishonest with themselves-about where they are in life, what their prospects are for achieving their goals and where they fall short-and still go forward.

　　失败者总是欺骗――不承认现实生活。我曾一度认为那些习惯性不诚实的人不可能成功。很遗憾，现在我深切的体会到，即使一个人对他人没有一点真诚，他也是有可能成功的--至少在经济方面他是有这个可能的;但是那些自欺的人却是绝对不可能成功的――他们不知道自己在生活的旅途中处于何方，不清楚实现目标的机会何在，认识不到自己的缺陷何在――认识不到这一点却还盲目前行。
