Being part of The London 2012 Inspire Programme itself has already made me feel like inspired, but it can never be as powerful as truly coming into the real British Embassy.

They say that entering the gate of one country‘s embassy is like having stepped on their own territories already. And at my first step in UK, I didn’t know I‘d saw something that would inspire me in such a soft way--- Cute but serious building style, a green tennis court and a swimming pool, wooden coffee tables with huge shade umbrellas and chairs…despite my previous “magnificent” imagination, the real embassy feels more like home, like a tiny comfortable British community with family in it. After a couple of blinks outside, we were led to a room which was more like a bar with dart boards on the wall. And that’s where we had our interview.

Named Gao Leizhong in Chinese, John Gallagher, the News Director of British Embassy, took our interview. His smart look and magnetic British accent may freak out some of our girls but luckily I‘m ok:) We asked more a dozen questions about Olympics or UK and John seemed comfortable as we were sitting face to face. When it’s my turn, I raised a question about the sustainability of Olympics‘ architects & venue for achieving the idea of Zero Waste Olympic Games and got some adorable answers. He gave three examples of the Olympic architects to show the technological designs and how many efforts the UK had made to keep green. They even got the soil washed in the factories and industrial areas to make sure the sites are clean. Most impressively, all of the architects will maintain where they are after the Games. “We want to leave something that future generation can enjoy,” John said,“ and show the world a modern London.”

Leave Something That Future Generation Can Enjoy. John had a point that corresponds with the slogan of London’s One Hundred Days Count Down——Inspire Generation. And when London means generation, it means the generation of the new world.
