　　I injured.

　　除了生病要看医生外，当不幸发生意外导致受伤也需要及时就医，你该立即告诉别人：I’m injured. (我受伤了)╱ I have an injury或 I’ve been hurt。不同的受伤伤势有不同说法，例如：I have an open wound(我有一个明显的伤口)、I have broken my arm (我手臂断了)。

　　George: Come on the game is about to start and we really need you.

　　Bill: I can’t play today, I’m injured. Sorry.

　　George: Where are you injured? You look fine to me, you’re up and running around.

　　Bill: My ego has been extremely bruised, the coach really yelled at me at the last match. (Cries) I’m sensitive and can’t have people yelling at me. It hurts.

　　乔治: 来吧!比赛快要开始了，我们需要你。

　　标尔: 我今天不能比赛，我受伤了，对不起。

　　乔治: 你那个地方受伤呢?你看来蛮好的，生龙活虎一样。

　　标尔: 我的自尊心严重受创，教练在上场比赛对我大声吆喝 (哭泣)，我是很感性的，不容许别人对我吆喝，这样会伤到我的。

　　比尔称病不参加球赛，朋友觉得奇怪：You?re up and running around(你生龙活虎一样)。比尔回答：My ego has been bruised(我伤了自尊)。原来他曾被教练吆喝。 Ego是‘自我’或‘自尊’。说伤害自尊，可用hurt、wound、injure、damage、dent(使凹下)、bruise(擦伤)等字。 Her criticism badly dented my ego即 ‘她的批评，严重打击了我的自尊’。

　　查字典，你会看到egoism、egotism两字，解释总是稍有不同，例如《朗文当代高级辞典》说egoism是‘利己心’，egotism 是‘自傲自大’等。其实这两个字没有什么分别，都是指自我中心、自负等，形容词是egoistic和egotistic，较新潮的说法是 egocentric，例如：An egoistic/egotistic/egocentric person cannot expect to have any real friends(自我中心的人，不用指望有好朋友)。Egoist(利己主义者)的反义词是altruist(利他主义者)。He killed the snake for altruistic reasons是说 ‘他为别人着想，把蛇杀死’。只求一己之快而做的事情，叫ego trip，例如：The new editor-in-chief seems to regard the newspaper as his own ego trip(新上任的总编辑，办报似乎只为了满足自己)。

　　英文有成语up and about，意思是‘已经起床(up)并四处走(about)了’，常用来说‘不再卧病在床’，例如：He came down with the flu last week, but is now up and about(他上星期患感冒病倒，现在已经康复)。以running around(四处跑)取代about，更显得活力十足。
