　　China‘s largest life and non-life insurance companies witnessed steady premium increases in the first six months of the year despite the negative impact of SARS. Both companies also said their restructurings and preparations for public listings were proceeding smoothly， but did not elaborate. Premiums at the People‘s Insurance Company of China ， the country‘s largest non-life insurer， rose by 2.8 per cent in the first half of 2003 on a year-on-year basis to 33.4 billion RMB.

　　虽然受到SARS 的负面影响，中国最大的人寿和非人寿保险公司的利润在今年的前6个月还是节节上升。两个公司都称他们的重组和上市准备进展顺利，但是没有透露详细内容。作为国内最大的非人寿保险公司，中国人民保险公司的2003年上半年的保险金比去看同期增长了2.8%，达到了334亿人民币。
