我被钉在监狱的墙上
黑色的时间聚拢，一群群乌鸦
从世界的每个角落从历史的每个夜晚
把一个又一个英雄啄死在这堵墙上
英雄的痛苦变成石头
比山还要孤独
为了开凿和塑造
为了民族的性格
英雄被钉死
风剥蚀着，雨敲打着
模模糊糊的形象在墙上显露
残缺不全的胳膊手面孔
辫子抽打着，黑暗啄食着
祖先和兄弟的手沉重地劳动
把自己默默无声地垒进墙壁
我又一次来到这里
反抗被奴役的命运
用激烈的死亡震落墙上的泥土
让默默死去的人们起来叫喊

I.An Ancient Story
Iam nailed to a prison wall.
Thedark times are gathering like crows
wingingin from all the world, all of history,
topeck the brave to death against this wall, one by one.
Theirgrief turns to stone.
Theyare lonelier than the mountains.
Forthe crime of chiseling,
ofsculpting the people’s character,
theheroes are nailed to death.
Winderodes and the rain thrashes;
onthe wall the blurred figures waver,
partsof arms, hands, faces are gone.
Aswhips lash and the beaked darkness pecks
thehands of ancestors and brothers in silent
hardlabor build themselves into the wall.
Icome here once again
tofight against my slave fate,
and,with my violent death, to shake the wall till it starts to crumble.
Letall the silent dead stand up and howl!
