Feifei
It’s just a cake, Rob, but if it’s good, I’m happy to try a slice.

Rob
Well, let me get it out of the oven now… Right, there you go. OK. Ta da!

Feifei
Umm… 蛋糕的样子还不错，不过味道怎么样呢？Let’s try it. It’s a bit stodgy, heavy… even lumpy.

Rob
Right. You don’t actually like it, do you? I followed the recipe exactly, although perhaps I forgot to do something to the flour. Oh, I seem to have a memory like a…

Feifei
A sieve.

Rob
That’s it! I didn’t sieve the flour. Ah, that explains the lumps.

Feifei
我的意思是你太健忘——“have a memory like a sieve”。这个表达把人的记性比喻成过滤网，放进去的东西都会漏出来，也就是说一个人容易忘事，记忆力差。Your memory is bad, Rob. You can’t forget things when you’re cooking.
