What's the difference between 'perspective' and 'mindset'?

This is all about ways of thinking. The most important thing to remember is that there are times that 'mindset' and 'perspective' can be used in the same way, but 'perspective' has a wider range of meanings. Let's look at this a bit more closely.

Examples
These exams are tough, but if you have the right mindset, you should pass.

My perspective is that things are always easier when you work as a team.

She had the perspective that you should look for opportunities in any problem you face.

That's when 'perspective' is used in a similar way to 'mindset', but we said it had a wider meaning. 'Perspective' can be a point of view, which could be because of the particular role you have or experiences that you have.

Examples
From my perspective, it's best if I leave early. From my manager's perspective, it's better that I do more work.

From a student's perspective, tests can be very stressful. From a teacher's perspective, they can be very useful.

Another way that we use 'perspective' is as an uncountable noun to mean 'balance' and 'fairness'. We might say that to make good judgements, you need to have perspective. We mean that you need to take a balanced and fair look at the whole context.
