　　1. be crazy for：渴望，痴想，对......爱得发狂

　　讲解： 这个短语既可以指对人爱得发狂，也可以指对事物或事件非常喜欢，be这系动词可以用get，go，become这些系动词。

　　例句： He goes absolutely crazy for her.

　　他想她真是到了发疯的地步。

　　At one time he was crazy for a cottage in the country .

　　有个时期他狂热地要在乡村弄一所别墅居住。

　　2. give a talk：发表演说，做演讲，作报告

　　讲解： talk做“演讲”“演说”“报告”这个意思解释时，是可数名词，不要少了a，如果是复数则用talks。表示给某人做报告或演讲，在talk后面用介词to。

　　例句： I will give a talk to my students.

　　我将给学生作报告。

　　I shall have to read up on the subject if I am to give a talk about it.

　　我要是就此主题作报告的话我必须仔细研读这个题目。

　　3. cope with：对付，应付，处理

　　讲解： cope是不及物动词，它必须和介词with连用，表示“(成功地)应付某事”“(妥善地)处理某事”。

　　例句： For all his learning, he didn't know how to cope with the situation.

　　他虽然学识渊博，但对这种情况他也不知道如何应付。

　　Inexperienced she was, she could cope with the difficulties wonderfully well.

　　尽管她没有经验，但她能巧妙地克服这些困难。

　　4. work through：度过，挺过(难关)

　　例句： We must work through the difficulties until we find an answer.

　　我们必须克服种种困难找到解决办法。

　　5. scoff at：嘲笑，奚落

　　例句： I told them my ideas but they scoffed at them.

　　我把自己的想法告诉他们，但他们嗤之以鼻。

　　6. be ready for：为......做好准备，准备做......

　　例句： This guy's a nut and you'd better get ready for rainy days.

　　这个家伙是一个难对付的人，你最好是未雨绸缪。

　　7. all sorts of：各种各样的

　　例句： You hear all sorts of tales.

　　9. rise up：起来反抗

　　例句： The people should rise up against and defeat those who want war.

　　人民会起来反对和击败那些想要战争的人。

　　They will rise up and overthrow their imperialist government.

　　1. this afternoon：今天下午

　　2. lose loved ones：失去挚爱的人，失去爱人，失去所爱

　　1. 情景： 当你觉得某件事情或某物不会给你带来伤害或造成损失，你可以说这句话：

　　It cannot hurt.

　　2. 情景： 当你看到某人经历困难后，从耷拉着的脸变成了笑容满面的脸，你可以说这句话：

　　You are in way, good of a mood.
