  这个短语在口语中很常用,blow off到底什么意思呢?下面总结几个平时经常遇到的情况。

  blow somebody off / blow off somebody 解释:

  1,放某人鸽子,失约;忽视某人或某事;本该去却没去。(to skip an appointment with someone; to ignore someone or something; to not attend something where one is expected. )

  例句:

  Joe blew me off this morning but then asked me to meet him tonight.

  乔今天早上放我鸽子,然后又约我晚上见面。

  It wasn't right for you to just blow off an old friend the way you did.

  像你这样不理睬老朋友是不对的。

  He decided to sleep in and blow this class off.

  他决定睡懒觉,不去上课。

  2,为了结束关系而不理某人,甩了某人 (to ignore someone in order to end a romantic or other relationship. )

  例句

  She knew that he had blown her off when he didn't even call her for a month.

  当他已经一个月没给她打电话时,她已经知道她被他甩了。

  Steve blew off Rachel before he started seeing Jane.
