　　ABUJA, Nigeria — As the death toll mounted from theworst outbreak of the Ebola virus, West Africanleaders quickened the pace of emergency effortsThursday, authorizing house-to-house searches forinfected people and deploying the army to combatthe disease.

The World HealthOrganization announced a $100 million plan Thursday to get more medical experts andsupplies to the overwhelmed region, as the head of the Centers for Disease Control andPrevention in the United States committed the agency to sending 50 more experts there incoming weeks.
