She’shis little schemer.
Whenbegged for an answer, she keeps quiet,
Whensilence is needed, she laughs and makes jokes
Causinghim all sorts of razzle-dazzle.
Sheupsets equilibrium,
Shelooks down on conceptualizing,
Shedances weird steps around him
Likea wilful little wood demon.
She’shis little schemer.
Whathe dreams of, she won’t give,
Whathe never expected, she compels him to take.
Thoughdrawn by tenderness, she avoids expressing it,
Thoughshe hasn’t gotten any, she’s already afraid of losing it.
Awhirlpool herself,
Shecreates various other whirlpools.
Nobodyunderstands her magic.
She’slittle schemer.
Beckoned,she won’t come; waved away, she stays;
Seemingclose, she’s far off; he’d give up, but can’t.
Onetime she seems like an iceberg,
Anothertime like a fierce ocean,
Sometimesshe’s wordless song.
Whilelistening, he thinks it may be true or false;
Aftertasting, he can’t tell whether it’s sweet or hot.
