I Considered Painting Two Flowers
Perhapswind and rain etch my life in the cliffs,
Orthe birds record my solitary promenades.
Mycourtyard? Clouds and tumbled stone.
Wintermelts into forests year by year,
AndI number each spring quietly.
Belowme great men cast bronze bells,
Carvetheir names and heroic deeds, and toll
Themforth. The silent cliffs echo my character.
