　　According to documents published by Fairfax, Mr Leung signed the deal – which UGL says was anon-compete agreement – four days after he announced his plan to run for chief executive.His spokesman said the payments were related to his resignation from DTZ and “not anyfuture service to be provided by him”. He added that there was “no requirement . . . for MrLeung to declare the above”.

More than half the1,200 members of the committee that picks the leader favoured Henry Tang, the scion of awealthy family who was later forced to drop his campaign after it emerged that he had built anillegal wine cellar in his house.
