　　谈就业

　　放在心上，扛在肩上

　　就业对于一个家庭来说那是天大的事，没有一个人就业，一个家庭就毫无生气。如果大学生毕业就失业，那就没有希望，所以我们要将心比心，各级政府及其工作人员，都要把就业放在心上，扛在肩上。

　　Employment is of paramount importance for each and every family. A family would be listless and lifeless if none of its members had a job. A college graduate would not be hopeful about his future if he could not find a job upon graduation. Governments at all levels must fully appreciate the importance of employment and always put employment high on their agenda.

　　绝不允许有零就业家庭出现。

　　We must do our best to avoid zero-employment families.

　　谈中美贸易

　　中美打贸易战对双方都没有好处

　　中美打贸易战对双方都没有好处，没有赢家。

　　A trade war does no one any good, no one will emerge a winner from a trade war.

　　如果用“打仗”这个词来形容贸易的话，也有悖于贸易的原则。

　　If one has to use the word "war" to describe trade, it is going against the rules of doing trade.

　　谈风险防范

　　投资者不要听信竹篮子也可以打一筐水的神话

　　我要负责任地说，中国有能力防范、也不会出现系统性金融风险。

　　Let me first say responsibly that China has the ability to forestall systemic financial risks, and no such risk will occur in China.

　　投资者千万不要听信那些非法集资者编造的竹篮子也可以打一筐水的神话。

　　I would also like to advise all the investors not to fall for the lies of illegal fundraisers, and believe that you can actually earn something for nothing.

　　谈中俄关系

　　中俄关系稳定发展对双方、对世界都有利

　　我们都应该认识到，中俄互为最大的邻国，中俄全面战略协作伙伴关系稳定发展对双方、对世界都有利。

　　The message I would like to convey to Russia is that we are each other's biggest neighbors. We believe that a stable and amicable China-Russia relationship is in the interest of both countries and the world.

　　谈台湾

　　不能容忍任何“台独”的企图、主张和行径

　　我们对台湾同胞一直在考虑怎样为他们到大陆来工作、学习、生活，创造同等的待遇，因为我们是一家人。

　　We have always been working to ensure that our compatriots from Taiwan will be able to enjoy the same treatment as mainlanders when they come to work, live or study on the mainland, because we are members of the same family.

　　正因为我们同属于一个中国，那就不能容忍任何“台独”的企图、主张和行径，也不能允许外国势力打“台湾牌”。

　　As we both belong to one and the same China, I believe we must not tolerate any attempt or proposition for "Taiwan independence". We should not tolerate the attempt of any external force to use Taiwan as a card to cause difficulties for cross-Straits relations.

　　谈老百姓因病致贫

　　不让“一个人患大病，全家都倒下”

　　今年春节前我到地方调研慰问，路过一个贫困人口家庭，临时进去，看到老人有大病，也有医保卡，但还是不敢去看。这个情景至今挥之不去。

　　On my visit to local communities before this Spring Festival, I went to a poor family and saw an elderly person being diagnosed with a serious illness. Although he had medical insurance, he still found the treatment too expensive to afford. This scene has stayed with me.

　　的确，常说病来如山倒，我们就是要运用大病保险等多种制度，不让一个人患大病，全家都倒下。

　　We all know that serious illness can strike at any time. So we must use insurance policies, programs and other policy steps to protect families from being overwhelmed by such severe difficulties.

　　谈中日关系

　　中日关系改善需要远见和定力

　　我认为中日关系改善不仅需要氛围，更需要远见和定力。

　　The improvement of bilateral relations requires not just the right atmosphere. It also calls for commitment and vision.

　　中日两国领导人互访，有利于让中日关系回归正常轨道，但更重要的是要夯实中日关系的基础，我们不能搞“一锤子买卖”，要让中日关系持续向好。

　　Exchanging visits at the leadership level will help get the relationship back on track. But we must consolidate the foundation of China-Japan relations rather than just making a one-time deal, and there needs to be sustained, steady development of this relationship.

　　如果说两国关系现在出现了“小阳春”，要防止“倒春寒”，要让中日关系向着持续稳定的方向发展。

　　We may now have a spring in China-Japan relations, but we also need to watch out for any possible return of chills. China and Japan need to work together for the sustainable development of bilateral relations.

　　谈“互联网+”

　　对“互联网+”采取包容审慎监管方式

　　“互联网+”作为新事物，它也有这样那样的问题，我们关键是要趋利避害，采取包容审慎的监管方式。

　　As it is so new, the "Internet Plus" model also has its problems. We should seek advantages and avoid disadvantages, adopting a tolerant and prudent attitude toward supervision.

　　对于“互联网+”，不能怕惹事、图省事，出现了某些问题就一巴掌打死;也不允许利用“互联网+”搞坑蒙拐骗，败坏“互联网+”的声誉，搞抹黑。

　　We cannot negate the "Internet Plus" model when problems appear, nor allow people to discredit it through deception or fraud.

　　谈养老问题

　　保证养老金足额发放、按时领取

　　保证养老金足额发放、按时领取，这是我们必须做到的。

　　We must ensure that old-age pensions are paid in full and on time.

　　老人辛苦了一辈子还不能老有所养，那后来人都会失去信心。

　　It would be really disappointing if decades of hard work cannot earn one a decent retirement.

　　不能把老年人当做负担，夕阳红还是一个产业，还有很多老人做他们力所能及的事情。

　　We should never see older people as a liability. They still have so many things that they can do. Retirement can also offer tremendous business opportunities and turn out to be an important industry.
